The challenge to save multiple coral species is daunting. We have assembled the best possible team to address these questions. The Reef Recovery Initiative is an ongoing project, still in its infancy, that has produced astounding results in only 8 years. We are using modern human fertility techniques to save reefs and have created the world’s first repositories of cryopreserved coral sperm and coral stem cells from eleven species, with more continuing to be added. With over 800 coral species worldwide, however, our work is just beginning.
